What is the best handbag for you

How do you know if the handbag you saw last week and you have not been able to get out of your mind is the right one for you?

The variety of fabrics and colors used for making handbags make the selection of the right one really hard. All these styles- shoulder bags, satchel bags, laptop bags, vertical ones, tote, clutch and many others- make it even harder. Bring the pricey designer handbags and the ever changing fashion market into the mix and it seems impossible to choose the right handbag. Of course you need a different bag for every occasion, but with these prices it is not easy to buy a lot. Buying wholesale handbags is not a solution for everyone either.

Let’s first see about the different material used for making handbags:

Cotton is probably the most used fabric for making handbags. Cutting and piecing it is very easy and as it comes in a variety of colors, it gives you a wide range to choose from. Cotton-made handbags are usually machine-washable and don’t lose their shape.

Silk is rarely used in handbags. It gets stained easily and should be dry-cleaned. It is not a stable fabric and the handbag loses its shape after some time.

Linen gets wrinkled easily. It is better to be dry-cleaned and you might want to use a stabilizer to keep it in shape.

Tapestry is another good material used for this purpose. Although it is weaved a little loosely, it does not lose its shape and comes in a lot of colors.

Velvet is a material that has a directional nap. It should be dry-cleaned and ironed on the wrong side, if needed. Make sure to never put it under pressure.

Faux fare should be treated almost the same as velvet. It should never be machine-washed or dry-cleaned. Always spot clean it if needed.

Leather is the material of choice of a lot of people. It comes in different patterns; manmade, natural, cowhide, goatskin and more. It is also very durable, it is not easily torn, ripped or shredded, and depending on the color and coating, hardly gets stained.

Suede is next to leather in strength and durability. It is hard to color and design suede and that makes it less common. To resolve that problem to some extent, ultrasuede is usually used. Unlike suede, it is completely washable and does not ravel. It is the same as suede in look and feel.

Now a little about different types of handbags:

Satchel bags have a couple of straps going over the shoulder and across the body. It is very popular among women who work and students who take a lot of papers and books around.

Tote is larger than purse and is used by many women for their daily use as it can contain a lot of personal belongings.

Clutch bags do not have any handle and are designed to be carried in hand for parties and formal gatherings. It is usually used to carry makeup and cosmetics around.

Hobo bags are the bags that are carried over the shoulder and are usually used by women who do not carry a lot of personal belongings.

By knowing this information about different styles and material, you should be able to decide better about the bag you need. Try to buy wholesale handbags if you can to get better prices.
